What To Expect (Job Responsibilities)

• Perform audits of medical records and validate assignment of diagnosis and procedure codes

• Support fiscal management of coding resources and processes
• Serve as a subject matter expert to coding employees

What Is Required (Qualifications)

• Associate's Degree in Health Information Services or related field or a High School Diploma with 2 years of coding experience in lieu of a degree
• Minimum of 3 years coding experience in an acute care setting
• Licenses and Certifications: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, or COC, each requiring 12 months
• Proficiency in software applications such as Excel, Word, Optum CAC, and EPIC
• Comprehensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM, PCS, CPT-4 coding conventions, and regulatory/payer requirements

• 1 year of experience performing coding and documentation audits
• Successful completion of ICD-10 AHIMA Academy training and certification
• Demonstrated initiative to stay updated on coding developments and regulatory changes
