Job summary

The Concord Consortium is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to build innovative science, engineering, and math simulations and applications for K-12 STEM education. You will create and improve systems for authoring, deploying, and reporting, while contributing high-quality, reliable software.

Qualifications

• Experience in modeling physical systems.
• Collaborative work in an agile team.
• Undergraduate degree in CS, math, or natural sciences.
• Experience delivering software projects with a team.
• Ability to work independently when needed.
• Strong written and verbal communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Write open-source code for STEM education apps.
• Work in sprints with project leader and developers.
• Learn subject matter to work effectively with project leaders.
• Rotate among several projects as needed.
• Suggest new technology ideas to leaders and developers.
• Improve platform and deployment processes.
• Optimize apps for speed and scalability.
• Participate in software architecture discussions.
• Provide tools to access project data and export formats.
• Build reusable code and libraries for future use.
• Support AI coding agents in development.
