Job summary

heyco, a PennEngineering company, seeks a skilled EDM Wire Machine Operator / Toolmaker to join our toolroom in Toms River, NJ. You will program, set up, and operate wire EDM machines to produce precision tooling and components meeting tight tolerances.

Qualifications

• EDM certification or 3–5 years of wire EDM experience.
• Experience with Charmilles wire EDM machines preferred.
• Proficient in CAM programming (Espirit preferred).
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, comparators, etc.).
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Set up, program, and operate wire EDM machines to manufacture tooling, dies, and precision components.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate machining.
• Perform edits and adjustments to programs as needed to optimize performance and quality.
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments to verify conformance to specifications; troubleshoot issues and implement corrections.
• Maintain proper documentation of work performed, including program revisions and inspection results.
• Collaborate with engineering and toolroom teams on new tooling and process improvements.
• Perform routine maintenance and keep machines and work area clean and organized.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
