Job summary

Nissha Medical Technologies – New Richmond is seeking an EDM Technician to support the Isometric Micro Molding Center of Excellence. You will learn to analyze CAD models, set up sinker EDM machines, and develop burn strategies to achieve tight tolerances with minimal supervision.

You will collaborate with CNC, tooling, and polishing teams, perform routine maintenance, and contribute to process improvements while adhering to quality and confidentiality standards.

Qualifications

Associate or technical degree in machining or related field, or 0–3 years EDM experience.
Ability to read blueprints and GD&T.
Experience with CAD software preferred (Creo, Edrawings, SolidWorks).

Responsibilities

Set up and operate sinker EDM machines with high accuracy and minimal supervision.
Analyze CAD models, blueprints and specs to determine EDM approach.
Develop burn strategies with senior EDM specialist and monitor processes.
Collaborate with CNC, toolmakers and polishing teams to ensure readiness.
Perform routine maintenance and seek process improvements.

What You Will Do

Essential Job Functions (Core Responsibilities - ~85%)

EDM Setup, Programming & Operation - 70%

Learn to analyze CAD models, blueprints, and technical specifications to determine EDM machining approach with minimal supervision.
Set up and operate sinker EDM machines to achieve +/-.0001 accuracy with minimal supervision.
Learn and develop and optimize EDM burn strategies with EDM Sinker Specialist III.
Learn and monitor machining processes and adjust to maintain tolerances and surface finish requirements.

Collaboration With Manufacturing Groups, Team Development and Strategy - 5%

Work side by side with EDM Sinker Specialist III, learning how to collaborate with CNC, Toolmakers, and Polishing teams to ensure component readiness and accuracy.

Troubleshooting, Maintenance & Optimization - 10%

Perform routine machine maintenance and ensure equipment is operating efficiently.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance cycle time and quality with direction and collaboration from EDM Sinker Specialist III.

Additional Responsibilities (Secondary - ~15%)

Compliance

Follow all company quality standards, safety policies, and required procedures.
Maintain confidentiality with all proprietary information.

Education & Experience Requirements

Associate or technical degree in machining, manufacturing technology, or related discipline OR a minimum of 0-3 years of sinker EDM experience.
Minimal experience in sinker EDM setup, programming, and operation.
Minimal experience achieving tight tolerances.
Minimal understanding of EDM principles, electrode materials, and burn strategies.
Minimal ability to read and understand blueprint reading and GD&T.
Minimal experience with CAD software (Creo, Edrawings, Solidworks) preferred.
Strong problem-solving capability and mechanical aptitude.
Extremely high attention to detail.
