Job description

We’re looking for an Editorial Lead - Climate & Materials to lead the voice of Tocco: research-backed, visually compelling, and unapologetically opinionated. Someone who can make climate design magnetic, not (painfully) academic.

What you’ll do:

This is a high-autonomy role where you get to shape both the narrative and the standard for what good looks like.

  • Own and evolve our content presence - across Mattermind, reports, decks, and campaigns
  • Define Tocco’s editorial voice and visual tone — smart, sharp, beautiful
  • Curate and produce trend reports, visual essays, and research-based narratives
  • Collaborate with founders, designers, and domain experts to bring clarity to complex ideas
  • Explore bold storytelling formats — from minimalist data cards to full-on editorial moments
  • Figma — You REALLY have to master Figma.
  • AI tools — OpenAI, Claude, Midjourney etc. (your co-pilots, not crutches)
  • Publishing — Notion, Webflow, Strapi, Hubspot (good to have).
  • Research inputs — Material science papers, trend decks, climate reports, Twitter, weird corners of the internet
  • A distinctive editorial voice and strong narrative instinct — across longform, shortform, and visual formats
  • At least 3 years of experience in editing, writing, content production
  • Great command of English is a Must. Please send over your design/writing porfolio for this position
  • Excellent research & synthesis skills — from climate papers to niche design blogs
  • Mastery of Figma — clean layouts, strong typographic hierarchy, and visual storytelling are second nature
  • Experience translating complex ideas into clear, engaging content for a non-technical audience
  • Comfort using AI tools to accelerate research and content workflows
  • Background in material science, CMF, design strategy, or editorial
  • Experience writing or editing for design, fashion, architecture, or climate spaces
  • A sharp radar for what’s culturally relevant — and what’s just noise
  • Strong trend curation instincts — you know how to spot, frame, and elevate “what’s next”
  • Ability to turn deep research into punchy, accessible, and visual content formats

️ What we offer:

  • A seat as one of our first 10 hires, with creative ownership and trust
  • A chance to set the tone — and make it iconic
  • Remote-first flexibility (work from wherever makes you feel sharp)
  • Equity and the freedom to push editorial boundaries
  • Collaboration with a product-led, design-conscious team
  • Actual impact on culture, not just clicks
  • Editorially Sharp — You can cut through noise with a sentence or a layout
  • Visual-First — You think in form and function — and Figma’s your playground
  • Research-Obsessed — You love going down rabbit holes, but you always come back with gold
  • Culturally Tuned-In — You follow signals from design, architecture, fashion, climate, and tech
  • Mission-Aligned — You believe good design can move the needle on climate
  • Independent — You can drive your own work, ask sharp questions, and close loops

not the job for you if...

  • You're afraid to take risks or have a strong point of view
