Job summary

VIZ Media, the leading publisher of English-language manga, is looking for an Editorial Intern to join our San Francisco team. The ideal candidate will assist the Editorial Department by copyediting manga proofs, conducting research, and providing general editorial support. Candidates should have strong English grammar skills, a passion for media publishing, and must be currently enrolled in college or have graduated within the past year. This part-time internship offers a competitive rate of $19.61/hour with flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Strong command of English grammar and spelling, proofing/copy editing skills preferred.
• Experience or interest in media publishing and writing.
• General knowledge of manga/anime is preferred.
• Basic computer skills including spreadsheets and databases.

Responsibilities

• Copyedit manga proofs and scripts.
• Conduct assigned editorial research.
• Create series style guides.
• Check printed books.
• Assist with packaging and shipping.
• Create articles and reviews for Shonen Jump.

Skills

English grammar and spelling

Writing/editing experience

Computer literacy (Mac systems preferred)
