Job summary

Dow Jones’ Wall Street Journal graphics internship invites driven student journalists to gain hands-on experience in a premier newsroom in New York before senior year. Juniors and graduates returning to school are eligible, with mentorship and tailored training sessions.

Interns will produce visual journalism across teams, learn information graphics systems, and develop data-driven interactives, maps, and charts while maintaining high standards.

Qualifications

• Completed at least one prior reporting internship with another professional media organization or published exceptional work with a campus news outlet or as a freelancer.
• Dedication to high journalism standards.
• A demonstrated interest in business reporting is a plus, though prior business or economics reporting experience isn’t required.
• Experience with front-end development is a significant bonus.

Responsibilities

• Produce compelling, and editorially strong, visual journalism, both alone and across teams, that take advantage of your strengths. This may include data-driven interactives, maps, charts, or other explanatory work.
• Learn WSJ systems and best practices for the creation of information graphics.
