Job summary

Nashville Public Radio is seeking an editor to ensure editorial content in our print and digital products is of the highest quality, reporting to the executive managing editor and supporting daily assignments from the senior editorial team. You will attend events, interview subjects and contribute ideas to the creative operations team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field.
• Proficiency with AP Style and grammar rules.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• obsessive attention to detail in high-quality outputs.
• Proficiency using Mac computers; experience with InDesign, Wordpress, Instagram and Facebook.

Responsibilities

• Write short feature stories for lifestyle publications and websites as assigned.
• Oversee departments for each city magazine and edit/fact check stories.
• Train interns and collaborate with the internship program leader.
• Proof stories before magazine release to printer.
• Represent magazines at community events and capture photos/video for the media library.
• Engage energy and an outgoing personality to strengthen brand relationships.
• Engage in SEO development and contribute editorially to city magazine websites.
