Position Summary:

The EDI Specialist – II / III is responsible for implementing and maintaining EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) systems and facilitating electronic data exchange between the company and its trading partners. This individual works closely with cross-functional internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless integration and timely transmission of data. Ensure compliance with all applicable existing and new accounts related to order processing, acknowledgments, change orders, back orders, external systems, and any necessary correspondence. Assure adherence to company quality objectives and work processes. Exercise discretion, initiative, good judgment, and foresight to enhance overall department efficiency, achieve high customer satisfaction, and provide responsive and professional service and support to accounts and business partners. Ensure theintegrity of data.

Qualifications

Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

  • Implement and maintain EDI systems by industry standards and company protocols.
  • Monitors, reports and tracks error trends to manage resolution initiatives.
  • Responsible for communicating with Trading Partners via email or phone for data errors and file rejects. information and follow through with resubmission activities.
  • Provides customer service to all EDI accounts and prospects including new account set-up, proper tax set-up and documentation, drop-ship/DC account database management, and all related shipments while ensuring theflow of day-to-day processes are effectively managed as required.
  • Works with shipping teams to ensure timely processing of EDI shipments.
  • Create business and sales reports as directed and perform special projects as assigned.
  • Prepare reports for reconciliation of data between EDI and applicable business applications.
  • Continuously evaluate, streamline, and automate EDI workflow processes.
  • Flexibility, resourcefulness, and superior time management skills.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with internal teams, andprogrammers to develop and test new or modified systems such as IT, sales, logistics, and finance, to ensure accurate and timely data exchange.
  • Quality Assurance testing and user acceptance.
  • Work with external trading partners, including customers, freight carriers, suppliers, and service providers, to establish and maintain EDI connections.
  • Inventory control for remote locations.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • 2+ years of relevant experience with EDI platforms, information systems, or related fields.
  • Knowledge of EDI standards and interconnectivity with various ERP and CRM platforms (e.g. D365 Business Central, CE, X12, EDIFACT, and XML, etc.)
  • SPS Commerce knowledge a plus.
  • Familiarity with EDI mapping software, such as SPS Commerce, TrueCommerce, Gentran, Sterling Integrator, or BizTalk.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail skills.
  • Experience in project management methodology, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration is a plus.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A college degree desirable, but not required.
  • Proficient in SharePoint.
  • D365 Business Central knowledge preferred but not required.
  • Intermediate working knowledge of M365 Productivity apps (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Ability to build strong relationships with teammates, partners, and specialists by fostering teamwork, partnership, and collaboration in a virtual or face-to-face environment.
  • Desire to grow professionally, develop new skills and willingness to work outside of comfort zone.
