Job summary

Farrow, a leading logistics and customs broker, is hiring an EDI Specialist to lead the electronic data interchange initiatives. You will design, implement, and support EDI solutions, collaborating with vendors, customers, and internal IT and operations teams to ensure seamless data exchange.

This 1-year contract role requires a university degree or diploma in computer science, at least 3 years in EDI, and hands-on experience with Altova XMLSpy and MapForce, AS2, and XML/EDIFACT standards.

Qualifications

• University Degree or College Diploma in Computer Science or relevant work experience.
• Minimum 3 years EDI development and support.
• Experience with 3rd party EDI translation tools, preferably Altova XML Spy and Map Force.
• Extensive knowledge of ANSI, X12, EDIFACT, XML and flat file schemas.
• Working knowledge of AS2, FTP/SFTP protocols and Value Added Networks.
• Programming skills in JAVA/PYTHON.
• Experience with XSLT development.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure would be an asset.
• Working knowledge of UNIX, LINUX or OS/400 operating systems.

Responsibilities

• Test, implement and maintain all EDI transactions and file problems
• Develop and maintain trading partner definitions to include relevant translation objects utilizing EDI translation software tools
• Handle communications with trading partners for EDI transaction set up and ongoing maintenance
• Coordinate between trading partners and networks to ensure mapping compliance
• Develop new business opportunities utilizing EDI
• Resolve technical mapping variations or gaps
• Trouble shoot issues in production environment
• Develop guidelines, checklists, procedures, and training documentation
• Communicate at the appropriate level with team members, management and end users
• Interact with clients and outside vendors/consultants in a professional and knowledgeable manner
• Monitor the daily processing of EDI transactions
