Job description

Join to apply for the Edge Security Engineer role at TEKsystems.

Must be eligible to work on W2 in the United States. Cannot accept H1B Visa or C2C candidates at this time. Duration: 18+ month contract (W2). Potential to convert to full-time based on performance and budget. Location: 100% Remote within the United States. Preferred Locations: Florida, Washington (state), or California.

Required Skills

1. 1+ year experience with Akamai Kona Site Defender (WAF) or similar Edge Security WAF tools for bot security, DDoS, Bot scoring, etc.
2. 1+ year experience in Website/Edge security vulnerability management
3. 1+ year experience in Network Security Engineering skills and concepts
4. SIEM Experience (Splunk preferred)

Nice to Have

• CISSP or similar cybersecurity-focused certifications

Description

TEKsystems is hiring a Cyber Security Engineer specializing in Web/Edge Security. Candidates should have at least 1 year of experience with Akamai Kona Site Defender (WAF), website Vulnerability Management, and Network Security engineering skills.

Responsibilities

1. Track malicious web traffic (bad actors, BOTS, etc.) and consult with application teams to engineer mitigation solutions.
2. Support Web & Mobile Development teams and applications using edge solutions.
3. Use Kona Site Defender within Akamai and AWS Web Application Firewalls to secure websites and APIs.
4. Perform weekly analysis and report on web traffic to identify threats and vulnerabilities, developing solutions to defend.
5. Research and proactively plan against potential threats targeting client websites.
6. Work with developers to remediate website vulnerabilities.
7. Collaborate with SOC team on security incidents.
8. Evaluate other Web Security Application solutions.

Pay and Benefits
