Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking an experienced engineer to own the compute, OS, and runtime architecture for autonomy software on the NVIDIA Jetson Thor edge platform in Irving, TX. You will enable perception, robotics, data logging, and diagnostics on edge devices.

You will work across perception, robotics, cybersecurity, and operations to ensure reliable autonomous software across real machines, with domestic relocation assistance and visa sponsorship as noted.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with edge AI runtime platforms and robotics compute platforms.
• Solid understanding of CPU, GPU, memory, storage, and network resource management for real-time workloads.
• Experience with middleware, drivers, service orchestration, logging, diagnostics, and runtime health management on edge systems.
• Ability to collaborate with perception, robotics, safety, cybersecurity, and operations teams to run autonomous software on real machines.

Responsibilities

• Define edge compute and runtime architecture for autonomy services on NVIDIA Jetson Thor platform.
• Leverage Jetson software ecosystem to support GPU-accelerated inference and data processing.
• Define resource allocation strategy across perception, robotics, data logging and diagnostics.
• Design runtime monitoring, health management, and fault handling for edge services.
