Job summary

Quadric is seeking an AI Kernel Engineer Intern in Burlingame, CA to work with senior AI Kernel Engineers on enabling AI/LLM models to run efficiently on Quadric's GPNPU platform. It is an on-site internship based in the Bay Area with relocation encouraged.

You will develop, profile, and optimize kernel code in C/C++ and Python, gaining hands-on experience with hardware architecture and optimization techniques while contributing to the AI inference stack under mentorship from industry experts.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ and Python.
• Solid foundational understanding of computer architecture and hardware-software interaction.
• Demonstrated capability in problem-solving, debugging, and clear technical communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop & Implement AI/LLM kernels and operators on the Quadric platform for efficient inference.
• Analyze & Profile kernel performance to identify micro-architecture and software bottlenecks.
• Code optimization to maximize hardware utilization for different workloads.
• Collaborate across related areas of the AI inference stack to support team priorities.
• Contribute to improvements in the Quadric toolchain, compiler, and runtime.
