Job summary

Quadric in Burlingame, CA seeks Forward Deployed Engineers to take the Chimera GPNPU from customer evaluation to committed design wins. You will own the technical path, port workloads, write custom kernels, and work with customer teams on-site and remotely.

You’ll also build reusable assets and benchmark collateral to accelerate future engagements. The role requires strong C++ and Python, systems-level performance intuition, and high agency in ambiguous environments, with preferred experience in

Qualifications

• Strong C++ and Python; has written perf-critical code for constrained targets (DSP, NPU, GPU, embedded SoC).
• Systems-level performance intuition: memory bandwidth, data movement, cycle-level reasoning.
• High agency and independent problem-solving; methodical and empirical.
• Comfortable operating without a playbook and in ambiguity.
• Preferred: FAE/Sales Engineering/FDE background or startup end-to-end ownership.
• Familiarity with agentic dev tooling (Claude Code, MCP).
• Background in NPU/edge-AI IP or silicon companies; inference-focused startups in field/customer engineering or kernel teams.
• FDE experience; experience optimizing kernels/hardware for speed; big-firm consulting with hands-on work.

Responsibilities

• Convert 2-3 active customer evaluations into committed design wins by running workloads at target latency/accuracy on Chimera.
• Port customer workloads onto Chimera; architect, adapt, profile, and write custom kernels when required.
• Work on-site and remotely with customer engineering teams; debug failures, hit benchmarks, guide model-architecture tradeoffs.
• Drive evaluations end-to-end from first technical conversation through design win.
• Codify learnings into reusable assets—SDK skills, porting playbooks, and agentic content.
• Build applications and benchmark collateral to support future engagements.
• Partner with engineering and product to relay customer learnings and shape roadmap; contribute to Quadric's agentic FDE toolkit.
