D3 Embedded in Rochester, NY, seeks a Computer Vision/AI Co‑Op student to work on embedded vision solutions. You will contribute to research, development, and deployment of perception algorithms for real‑world AI on embedded devices.

You will gain hands‑on experience with cutting‑edge AI/ML technologies, collaborate with senior engineers, and participate in cross‑functional teams to integrate AI into existing systems.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, electrical or computer engineering, or related field.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a team mindset.
• Proficiency in Python and/or C++ for AI and CV development.
• Experience with deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, ONNX, OpenCV).

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and optimizing CV and AI algorithms for object detection, segmentation, and pose estimation.
• Implement, test, and deploy ML models on embedded/edge platforms.
• Translate design specs into functional prototypes with senior engineers.
• Develop software in Python/C++ for real‑time AI applications.
• Train, evaluate, and fine‑tune models using DL frameworks.
• Support hardware bring‑up and software integration on embedded systems.
• Collect and preprocess data for AI training; participate in code reviews and documentation.
