Job summary

The Eddy Current Level II NDI Technician supports the Aircraft Maintenance Group at Tinker AFB by conducting critical inspections to ensure aircraft structural integrity and compliance with USAF standards. This role specializes in eddy current inspections but may support other NDI methods as qualified, with experience preferred in EVI and Eddy MAUS.

Minimum 3 years of aircraft-related NDI experience is required, along with an active security clearance or eligibility.

Qualifications

• The role requires Level II Eddy Current certification per NAS 410/ASNT or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of aircraft-related NDI experience.
• Understanding of aircraft structural components and material characteristics.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and inspection procedures.
• Active Secret Clearance or eligibility to obtain.
• Preferred but not required: EVI certification or experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform Level II eddy current inspections on aircraft components and systems following technical orders and USAF regulations.
• Ensure accurate detection and evaluation of discontinuities in metallic structures.
• Prepare and maintain inspection reports and records per quality controls.
• Support additional NDI methods (ultrasonic, x-ray, dye penetrant, magnetic particle) within certification scope.
• Follow safety and environmental procedures and hazardous material handling guidelines.
• Interface with QA and maintenance teams to communicate inspection results.
• Maintain certification and currency in assigned NDI methods.
• Suggest process improvements to enhance inspection effectiveness and reduce downtime.
• Optionally utilize Eddy MAUS for composite and metallic structure analysis.
• Apply EVI techniques where qualified.
• Support adherence to ISO, NAS 410, or ASNT standards as applicable.
