Job summary

Heartland Dental is seeking an Expanded Duties Dental Assistant (EDDA) for our Elkhart, IN office. You will greet patients, review medical histories, and provide education and support throughout treatment.

You’ll take x-rays and assist with a variety of procedures, using tools like the iTero scanner and Dentrix for scheduling and records. This role requires an Indiana Radiology license and EFDA training, experience with dental software, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Must have Indiana Radiology License and EFDA training.
• Experience with dental software (Dentrix or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology and procedures.
• Experience in fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Regular HIPAA training and PHI protection required.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients and educate them throughout treatment.
• Review patient health history for quality care.
• Take and process x-rays and diagnostic assessments (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography).
• Provide chairside assistance (four-handed dentistry) to dentists.
• Use Dentrix for scheduling and record keeping.
• Prepare treatment rooms following safety protocols (OSHA & CDC).
• Manage supply and inventory, place and expedite orders.
• Collaborate with providers to implement Heartland Dental systems.
