Job summary

Mortenson Dental Partners is seeking an Expanded Duties Dental Assistant (EDDA) to join our La Grange practice. This full-time role offers up to $25/hour based on experience and a $2,500 sign-on bonus, with a 38-hour work week and 60-day benefits eligibility.

Responsibilities include assisting dentists, maintaining sterilization protocols, taking X-rays, preparing rooms, and ensuring patient comfort. Required EDDA/EFDA certification, radiology and CPR credentials, and background check; equal

Responsibilities

• Assist dentists and hygienists with diagnosis and treatment, including X-rays and patient education
• Maintain equipment and supplies; manage patient charges accurately
• Follow CDC and OSHA infection control guidelines
• Complete clinical notes before dismissing the patient
• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments; pass instruments to dentist
• Place and finish restorations and take preliminary impressions

Responsibilities

• Delivers clinically excellent dental care through education and quality treatment. Assists dentists and hygienists in quality diagnosis through X-rays, verbal communication, and other dental tests as directed.
• Helps ensure efficient operations by seeking patient referrals, maintaining equipment, utilizing supplies cost-effectively, and posting patient charges accurately.
• Follows CDC and OSHA guidelines for safety and infection control.
• Completes all clinical notes according to practice guidelines before dismissing the patient.
• Prepares treatment room for patients by following prescribed procedures and protocols. Provides instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to the treatment area; positioning instruments for the dentist's access; suctioning; and passing instruments.
• Places and finishes permanent restorations, complete preliminary impressions.

Qualifications

• Have your EDDA or EFDA certification
• Have your high school diploma or equivalent
• Obtain your radiology and CPR certification within the required timeframe
• Must pass a background check and drug screening
