Job summary

Keysight Technologies is seeking a customer-focused Application Engineer to partner with Americas-based engineers, enabling success with Keysight EDA tools and delivering an exceptional support experience. You will act as a trusted advisor, helping customers move forward in their design journey across diverse applications and industries.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or higher degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Background in RF/microwave, RFIC, high-speed digital design, applications engineering, EDA technical support, design flow enablement.
  • Proficiency with EDA tools such as ADS, SystemVue, EM simulation, or similar.
  • Strong troubleshooting and ownership to drive resolution.
  • Experience with (or willingness to learn) Python.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with customers to understand goals and guide adoption of Keysight EDA tools.
  • Diagnose issues, identify root causes, and drive resolutions with ownership.
  • Deliver timely, high-quality support and build customer trust and delight.
  • Create customer-facing documentation and knowledge articles for self-service.
  • Deliver technical training to expand customer capabilities and tool usage.

Keysight is a leading provider of advanced Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools for electronic communication and semiconductor manufacturers, chip designers, and R&D integrators. Responsibilities

We are looking for a customer-focused Application Engineer who is passionate about solving complex technical challenges and enabling customer success. In this role, you will partner with engineers across the Americas to help them fully leverage Keysight EDA tools, while delivering an exceptional support experience that builds trust, advocacy, and long-term relationships.

This role goes beyond technical problem-solving-you will act as a trusted advisor, advocate, and collaborator, ensuring customers can confidently move forward in their design journey. It is ideal for engineers who enjoy hands-on problem-solving while expanding their impact by working across a wide range of customer applications, industries, and design challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with customers to understand not just issues, but what customers are trying to achieve - their design goals, challenges, and workflows, and help them achieve success using Keysight EDA tools
  • Apply strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to systematically diagnose issues, identify root causes, and drive them through to resolution with ownership
  • Deliver timely, high-quality support that drives customer confidence and delight
  • Act as a customer advocate, ensuring feedback is clearly communicated and influences product and process improvements
  • Identify opportunities to expand customer adoption and usage of Keysight solutions by understanding their evolving needs and guiding them to additional capabilities
  • Collaborate across global cross-functional teams, leveraging collective expertise to solve problems more effectively
  • Develop clear written and verbal communication, including customer interaction documentation, knowledge articles and technical guidance for customer self-service
  • Create and deliver training content to help customers expand their capabilities with EDA tools
  • Continuously learn and stay current with new tool features, technologies, and industry trends
  • Manage multiple priorities effectively while maintaining strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Demonstrate agility and growth mindset by quickly learning and adopting new tools, including AI, to improve effectiveness
  • Balance independent execution with strong collaboration, seeking help when needed, leveraging team expertise, and contributing to others' success

Qualifications
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering / Electronics, or higher degree with 5+ years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Background in one or more of the following: RF/microwave, RFIC, high-speed digital design, applications engineering, EDA technical support, design flow enablement
  • Proficiency with EDA tools such as ADS, SystemVue, EM simulation, or similar
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues, identify root causes, and drive resolution with persistence and ownership
  • Experience with (or willingness to learn) Python
  • Demonstrable interest and commitment as an independent learner
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex topics clearly
  • Experience delivering technical training or presentations is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and support customers effectively
  • U.S. person status is required due to the nature of certain customer environments and project requirements

The level of role will be based on applicable experience, education and skills; Most offers will be between the minimum and the midpoint of the Salary Range listed below.

California Pay Range MIN $97,040.00 MIDPOINT $129,380.00 MAX $161,730.00
