Job summary

Franciscan Health Crawfordsville Campus is seeking an ED Technician II to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Physician, across neonate to geriatric patients. This evening/night shift (6PM-6AM) includes assisting with transfers, IV setup, wound care, and specimen handling.

You will monitor patients, assist with procedures, transport supplies and specimens, and help ensure high-quality care while adhering to safety protocols and team procedures.

Qualifications

• EMT certification required (NREMT)
• CPR certification required (AHA)
• High School Diploma or GED required

Responsibilities

• Perform cardiac monitoring duties (EKG) to monitor patient condition.
• Gather equipment to start an IV and assist with venous access.
• Provide equipment for lumbar puncture, Central line, IV insertion, and chest tube insertion.
• Intervene with CPR and assist as needed.
• Label and transport specimens to the laboratory.
• Perform wound care and prepare patient for wound closure.
• Complete assignments and reports to the supervising Registered Nurse.
• Follow hospital safety plans and act during codes and drills.
• Orient patient/family to surroundings and instruct on how to call for assistance.

The Franciscan HealthED Technician II provides direct patient care, under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Physician, of all age groups from neonate through geriatric. This position may assist with patient transfers, repositioning, transporting of patients, obtaining supplies, or specimens, and any other duties deemed necessary to ensure optimal patient care and physician service.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

• Perform wound care and prepare the patient for wound closure.
• Complete assignments and reports to the responsible Registered Nurse.
• Utilize knowledge/experience of the hospital safety plan, and act accordingly during codes and drills.
• Orient patient/family to surroundings and instruct on how to call for assistance.
• SHIFT- 6PM- 6AM

QUALIFICATIONS

• Required High School Diploma/GED
• 1 year Emergency Department Preferred
• Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT)
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) - American Heart Association
