Description:

Trinity Health Of New England is seeking an experienced Emergency Department Technician (EDT) to join our team at Mercy Medical Center. This role involves assisting physicians and nurses in providing exceptional care to patients with various medical conditions.

What you will do
  • Perform and document patient care in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Provide basic nursing care such as activities of daily living (ADLs), collecting specimens, vital signs, intake/output, and weight.
  • Perform procedures including EKGs, phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, and monitor patient responses to restraints and other treatments.
  • Carry out tasks delegated by the Registered Nurse.
  • Communicate routinely with the RN and report any findings or concerns immediately.
  • Utilize troubleshooting skills to recognize problems, identify causes, and seek solutions.
  • Explain care procedures to patients and families to ensure transparency and understanding.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Nurse Manager.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to pass drug screenings and background checks.
  • CPR/BLS certification required.
  • Assault Reduction Training.
Schedule
  • Full-Time, 36-hour evening flex shift (11 a.m. - 3 a.m.).
  • Must be adaptable to work from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. or 3:00 p.m. to 3:30 a.m. based on scheduling needs.
  • Must work every other weekend and holiday as scheduled.
