Job summary

Trinity Health in Maywood, IL is hiring for a Full-time day shift position focused on direct patient care. You will take vital signs, distribute meals, and assist with testing and treatments, including IV setup, 12-lead ECG, suctioning, wound care, and specimen collection.

You will support physicians and staff with equipment and transport, ensure accurate documentation, and use resources efficiently to promote quality care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with training acquired through work experience or education.
• 1-2 years of previous job-related experience (preferred).
• BLS American Heart Association certification is required.
• Licensed EMT Paramedic State of Illinois is preferred.
• Licensed EMT-Basic and/or Paramedic State of Illinois.
• Completion of an Illinois Department of Health program (CNA, EMT-B, EMT-P) with verification, or the ability to prove an equal or higher level of education in a nursing focused program.

Responsibilities

• Meet patient comfort and hygiene needs; distribute meals and beverages; take vital signs; collect lab specimens.
• Assist with testing and treatment procedures; set up IV tubing; perform 12-lead ECG and basic airway/suction care; change dressings; obtain blood specimens; perform CPR; collect wound/throat cultures.

Employment Type: Full time Shift: 12 Hour Day Shift Description: FT Days

• Meets the comfort and hygiene needs of the patient by providing care services. Distributes meals and beverages, takes vital signs, collects lab specimens.
• Assists with completion of patient testing and treatment procedures, sets up and primes IV tubing, 12-lead ECG, simple tracheostomy suctioning and care, changes dressings, obtains blood specimens utilizing appropriate skin puncture and venipuncture techniques, performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation, obtains wound and throat cultures.
• Assists physician and professional staff in equipment supply and set up.
• Assists with ambulating patients with assistive devices such as crutches and with transfer/transport procedures.
• Performs required documentation and communicates in a competent and effective manner to meet patient and/or family needs and regulatory requirements.
• Utilizes time and resources effectively to promote quality and cost outcomes.
• Other department specific duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

• Minimum Education: Required: High School Diploma plus training acquired through work experience or education
• Minimum Experience: Preferred: 1-2 years of previous job-related experience
• Licensure/Certifications: Required: BLS American Heart Association
• Preferred: Licensed EMT Paramedic State of Illinois
• Licensed EMT-Basic and/or Paramedic State of Illinois
• Other: Completion of an Illinois Department of Health program (CNA, EMT-B, EMT-P)with verification, or the ability to prove an equal or higher level of education in a nursing focused program.
• Compensation Salary Range: $17.30 - $26.81 per hour Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in a similar roles.
