Job summary

Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center in Reno, NV seeks an Emergency Department Technician to support patients under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. You will assist with activities of daily living and help maintain a safe care environment for non-critical patients.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, EMT Certification or CNA if required, and current BLS certification. Previous acute care experience is preferred. Per diem schedule with variable shifts.

Qualifications

• Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology expected.

Responsibilities

The Technician in the Emergency Department is an unlicensed non-certified assistive person who assists with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to non-critical patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current EMT Certification or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), if required by the State
• Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician's office preferred.
