Job summary

Dignity Health - Marian Regional Medical Center is seeking an ED Tech to support the Emergency Department with direct patient care and efficient operations. You will assist with admissions, discharges and vital signs while supporting nurses and physicians in critical moments.

The role requires calm, proactive communication and strong teamwork to ensure timely patient care and smooth ED flow in Santa Maria, California.

Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CA) certification required at hire.
• Emergency Medical Technician (CA) certification required at hire.
• National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians certification required at hire.
• Orthopaedic Technologist Certified required at hire.
• Orthopedic Technologist Registered required at hire.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Takes vital signs, height and weight. Records on appropriate charting form
• Reports observations regarding patient's status to the registered nurse.
• Identifies and responds to urgent/emergent situations.
• Assists in patient admission, transfer or discharge.
• Moves, lifts, ambulates and transports patients safely.

As an ED Tech, you will provide crucial support and direct patient care in the fast-paced Emergency Department, ensuring efficient operations and compassionate assistance during critical moments. Every day you will expertly assist with patient admissions and discharges, perform vital signs and basic medical procedures, maintain a clean and organized environment, and meticulously document observations to support the nursing staff and physician team. To be successful, you will demonstrate outstanding adaptability, strong communication skills, and a calm, proactive demeanor, contributing significantly to timely patient care and a smooth-running ED.
