Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking an Emergency Room Tech to support safe patient care in the Emergency Observation Department. You will perform delegated diagnostics, assist with transport, and provide clerical and cleaning support to the unit.

You will execute tasks delegated by RNs or physicians, help maintain a safe environment, and contribute to efficient patient flow in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED at hire with EMT/MA/CNA/LPN or equivalent nursing coursework.
• WA-specific licenses/certifications (CNA WA, LPN WA, Medical Assistant WA, RN WA) at hire.
• Basic Life Support CPR required at hire; Phlebotomist MA WA within 6 months.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As an Emergency Room Tech, you will support safe, cost-efficient patient care in the Emergency Observation Department, performing delegated functions from the RN or Physician.

Every day you will conduct selected diagnostics and procedures, assist with patient transport and lifting, and provide general clerical and cleaning support to the unit.

To be successful in this role you will effectively execute delegated tasks, support unit operations, and contribute to a safe and efficient environment.

• Assists in implementing plan of care by performing common clinical procedures and tasks within scope of practice.
• Demonstrates competency in the delivery of care and clinical techniques
• Assists in making observations, gathering data and identifying patient care needs.
• Responds appropriately to emergency situations.
• Assists with patient transport and transfer.
• Assists with cleaning, stocking and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
