Job summary

Ochsner is seeking a patient care teammate to assist with direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and BLS certification; CPI is required upon hire.

Preferred candidates have hospital experience and strong computer, communication and interpersonal skills to support patient care and documentation while maintaining privacy and professionalism.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Hospitals experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• CPI certification required upon hire.
• Must be able to use computers and software; communicate clearly with patients and team.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse.
• Performs clinical duties as competency allows.
• Supports nursing and hospital administration by following established policies and procedures.
• Accurately documents patient-related tasks.
• Maintains professional knowledge and required certifications through ongoing development.
• Adapts communication to different patient populations while respecting privacy.
