Job summary

SCK Health in Kansas seeks a PRN Registered Nurse for ER coverage, providing direct patient care and administering medications per ENA standards. You will respond to emergencies and follow department policies. A Kansas RN license and relevant certifications are required.

Excellent interpersonal skills with physicians, team members, patients, and families are essential. Prior clinical experience is preferred; the schedule includes every other Saturday and Sunday days (6:30 AM–6:30 PM).

Qualifications

• Current Kansas RN license.
• CPR/ACLS/TNCC/PALS/NRP within 6 months of employment (or ability to obtain).
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum 1 year of clinical practice preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with physicians, team, patients and families.

Job description

Scheduled: PRN, Every other Sat, Sun, Days 6:30AM- 6:30PM

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provides direct and individualized nursing care to a group of patients based on the application of scientific principles and ENA standards.
• Receives documents and executes the provider’s orders as per policy/standards.
• Prepares, administers and records medications in accordance with the policy regarding the administration of medications by a RN.
• Responds and participates in emergency care.
• Provides emergency care according to ENA standards and unit policy and procedures.
• Follows nursing care and all related activities in ER according to policies, procedures, philosophy and objectives of the department and Medical Center.
• Complete monthly chore assignments, as delegated by department manager.

Working Conditions:

Job responsibilities require working under constant exposure to noise, lighting, and/or temperature levels. Exposure to irritating, unpleasant, or hazardous elements or conditions (i.e. blood, chemicals, and infectious diseases) is constant.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• License: Current License in the state of Kansas as a RN
• Certifications: CPR, ACLS, TNCC, PALS, NIH, NRP within 6 months of employment
• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in clinical practice (preferred).
• Other: Must have excellent interpersonal skills dealing with physicians, team members, patients and families.
