Job summary

GW Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Level I Trauma Center Emergency Department in Washington, DC. You will join a fast-paced team delivering critical care to patients with urgent and life-threatening conditions, supported by physicians, NPs, and experienced nurses.

You will be part of a dedicated ED team focused on patient-centered care, teaching, and research, providing high-quality care to patients and their families during critical times.

Qualifications

  • BSN or currently enrolled.
  • DC RN License, or eligibility.
  • At least 1 year of clinical experience in an emergency department or critical care setting is preferred.
  • Certification in BLS, ACLS, and PALS required.
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification within 1 year of hire.
  • Exceptional clinical skills and judgment.
  • Strong ability to work under pressure and react effectively in emergencies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Perform assessments, develop treatment plans, and implement care for patients across a wide range of conditions.

The George Washington University Hospital Emergency Department is a 62-bed, 24/7 Level I Trauma Center that provides comprehensive care for patients with acute illness, trauma, and critical emergencies. Our ED features resuscitation rooms, fast-track areas, and dedicated spaces for trauma, cardiac, and stroke care, supported by advanced diagnostic and surgical services. Team members work alongside board-certified emergency physicians, nurse practitioners, and highly skilled emergency-trained nurses in a fast-paced, collaborative environment focused on exceptional, patient-centered care.

Job Summary
