Job summary

V R Della Infotech Inc. seeks an Emergency Department RN for 36 or 48–hour blocks, nights and every other weekend in a 65‑bed ED with pod-based layout and separate pediatrics/mental health areas.

You will perform general ED nursing tasks, including assessment, documentation, IVs, phlebotomy, EKG, cardiac monitoring, and patient education, while floating to ED Observation, AMU and ED Psych OB’s. AHA BLS/ACLS/PALS required; NRP/TNCC preferred.

Qualifications

• 2 years Emergency Nursing experience.
• AHA Certified BLS, ACLS & PALS; NRP & TNCC certifications strongly preferred.
• EMR (EPIC ASAP) experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• General ED nursing duties: assessment, documentation, IVs, phlebotomy, EKG, monitoring, and patient education.
• Floating required to ED Observation, AMU and ED Psych OB's.
• Rotation: Day 7a–7p, 11a–11p, 7p–7a when requested; Night position does not rotate.
• Bed count: 65; Census: 230 visits/day.

Unit Name: Emergency Department

Brief Unit Description: 65-Bed Emergency Department, pod-based, with separate pediatric pod and separate Acute Mental Health area.

Years of Experience Required: 2 years Emergency Nursing experience.

Skill Sets Required: General ED nursing skills including but not limited to: Assessment, documentation, IV, phlebotomy, EKG, Cardiac Monitoring, point of care testing, splinting, critical thinking and patient education.

Clinician to Patient Ratio: 1:4.

Patient Population: All.

Bed Count: 65.

Census: 230 visits/day.

EMR (Charting System): EPIC ASAP.

Floating Required: Yes, to ED Observation, AMU and ED Psych OB's.

Rotating Shifts Required: Yes, for Day Rotate (7a-7p, 11a-11p, & 7p-7a) when requested.

Rotation frequency: Low. Night position does not rotate.

Certifications Required: AHA Certified BLS, ACLS & PALS. NRP & TNCC certifications strongly preferred.
