Job summary

South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, MA is seeking a part-time registered nurse for the Emergency Department. The role involves nursing care using the nursing process, with a focus on assessment, planning, and clinical documentation across shifts.

Responsibilities

• Medication administration following SSH policies and procedures.
• Document narcotic withdrawal, administration, and discrepancies per policy.
• Develop, evaluate and update individualized plan of care and document outcomes.
• Initiate admission assessment within 8 hours of admissions; identify teaching needs.
• Document all patient care per nursing policy and unit standards; include disease processes and indicators.
• Assess patient pain and response to interventions using appropriate scales.
• Facilitate discharge/transfer with goal of 12:00pm and communicate barriers.
• Maintain a culture of safety; adhere to hand hygiene and universal precautions.
• Pursue ongoing professional development; minimum 5 contact hours/year.
• Use Lotus Notes and department software; know how to operate in downtime.
