Job summary

UPMC Presbyterian is seeking a Part-Time Emergency Department Patient Services Representative to support patient registration at the front desk and at bedside. The role includes clarifying copays, assisting with payments, and connecting patients with financial advocacy resources while updating patient information and obtaining consent.

Qualifications

• Experience in patient registration or front desk duties.
• Ability to explain copays and assist with billing questions.
• Commitment to HIPAA and patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile and maintain ED tracking board and ADT system.
• Register patients accurately in the hospital system during downtime.
• Verify insurance eligibility and assist with benefits coordination.
• Collect co-pays and payments; document financial transactions.
• Greet patients warmly and uphold patient confidentiality under HIPAA rules.
