Job summary

Griffin Hospital in Derby, CT is seeking a Patient Safety Monitor for the Emergency Department (7am-7:30pm). Main duties include assisting with admissions, obtaining and recording vital signs, weight and height, feeding patients, orienting them to surroundings, and reporting all changes in patient condition to the clinician on duty.

You will monitor patient observations and assist with basic care tasks as directed, ensuring comfort and safety.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospital environment preferred.
• Patient care technician experience is preferred.
• Able to report changes in patient condition to clinicians.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and record vital signs, weight and height.
• Orient patient to surroundings including TV and phone operation.
• Feed patient, record liquid intake.
• Report all changes in patient condition to clinician, primary or charge nurse on duty.
• Assist in patient observation for those at risk.
• Stay calm in emergency situations.
