Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited paramedic program.
• 1 year experience as a Paramedic in a pre-hospital or hospital environment preferred.
• Licensed Paramedic (LP) or EMT-P in the state of Texas required.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS Healthcare Provider courses as per RQI guidelines; program orientation includes ECC courses.
• Handle With Care within 6 months of hire.
• Demonstrate arrhythmia competency by 90% score within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality care to patients of all ages under Medical Director direction.
• ED Paramedic reports to charge nurse for shift assignments and duties.
• Care for patients within defined scope; perform treatments and procedures; ensure safety.
• Collect pertinent data within certification scope and chart appropriately.
• Collaborate with RNs and Medical Providers to treat adult medical and trauma patients.
• Interpret ECGs, perform IV therapy, and initiate approved protocol orders in ED.
• Other duties as assigned.
