As an ED Paramedic, you'll be at the forefront of administering prompt and efficient hospital care to patients at an Advanced Life Support level. Working under the direction of our department leader, you'll play a vital role in the evaluation and treatment of patients, operating with in-person medical direction and approved protocols.

Your Everyday

Performs patient assessment under physician supervision, including triage, vital sign assessment, and prioritization of care.

Documents patient-related activities and communicates changes in patient status to designated physicians and nurses.

Conducts blood draws and point-of-care testing according to approved standing orders, reporting abnormal findings to the nurse in charge.

Ensures patient throughput initiatives and infection control protocols are followed, including proper equipment disinfection and sharps disposal.

Communicates patient conditions to responsible registered nurses, charge nurses, or physicians, and assists in patient transportation as needed.

Acts as a resource for unit personnel, coordinates tasks with appropriate staff, and provides educational experiences for EMT students.

Assumes responsibility for completing patient care charges and contributes to the improvement of patient care quality through committee participation and suggestions for improvement.

Continues professional growth through identification of educational needs, goal setting, and planning for continuing education.

The Must-Haves

Minimum

High School Diploma or 2 years of experience in related area.

American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

PALS certification

Preferred

1 year of experience as Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic
