Job summary

Qualifications

Reports to: Director of Emergency Services Exempt Status: No

Position Purpose

All KHI employees are expected to perform their respective tasks and duties in such a way that supports KHI’s vision to be among the kindest, highest quality health systems in the country.

Provides direct patient care within the level of training as a paramedic on patient population of neonatal, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Performs in the hospital setting under the direct supervision of registered nurse or physician as credentialed by the hospital Medical Executive Committee. Performs other unit specific duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Certification:

• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• PHTLS (Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support).

Licensure:

• Current, valid EMCT Paramedic Certification through the state of Arizona
• One year experience as a Paramedic.

Preferences

• Experience: Previous hospital-based experience

Work Requirements

• Able to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Demonstrates good oral and written communication skills.
• Able to manage technical business equipment i.e., phone, fax, computer etc.
• Able to assist with the movement of an adult patient weighing up to 300 lbs.
• Able to care for patients with infectious diseases.
• Able to sit for 3-5 hours per day; Able to stand for 3-5 hours per day; Able to walk for 3-5 hours day.
