Job summary

Phoenix Children's is seeking an ED Paramedic for the Gilbert, AZ location to support the Emergency Department with direct patient care under the direction of the administrative medical director. The role follows defined protocols and standing orders to implement portions of the care plan and ensure patient safety.

Responsibilities include medication administration, focused patient assessments, thorough documentation, and collaboration with the healthcare team.

Responsibilities

  • Performs patient care interventions, including medication administration, in alignment with state scope of practice and tasks approved by Phoenix Childrens and administrative medical director, and in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Performs focused assessment of their interventions as appropriate, including complete documentation and escalation of abnormalities as indicated.
  • Provides orientation to the unit, hospital systems, and processes to patients and family members to ensure familiarity with unit’s policies and requirements.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing required activities within established parameters to ensure compliance with all applicable medication, storage and documentation standards, regulations, and requirements.
  • Participates in a variety of in-service programs, meetings, and rounds as indicated.
  • Performs a variety of activities to provide for the ongoing maintenance of the department`s environment and patient care needs.
  • Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.

Position Summary

This position works under the direction of the administrative medical director to assist in the implementation of selected portions of the care plan, and perform a variety of direct patient care services through defined protocols/standing orders approved by the administrative medical director.
