Job summary

Cone Health is seeking a Nursing Technician to support Registered Nurses by observing and documenting patient conditions and assisting with daily tasks. This role requires close supervision and experience as an ED Nurse Tech.

Key duties include assisting with daily living activities, mobility, and ensuring safety through accurate monitoring and documentation in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 6 months of related experience.
• BLS (CPR) – American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
• Nurse Aide Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Supports patients with daily living tasks including meals, personal care and progressive mobility to support recovery.
• Assesses nutrition, hydration and elimination to anticipate patient needs and allocate resources.
• Admits, transfers and discharges patients according to the plan of care.
• Assists with elimination needs including ostomy care, enemas and condom catheters.
• Maintains unit inventories to ensure a clean and safe environment aligned with safety goals.
• Verifies fall risk patients have armbands, socks and signage for safety.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

The Nursing Technician supports the Registered Nurse through observing and documenting patient conditions. Working under close supervision, this role assists with patient support through progressive mobility and assistance with daily tasks as needed.

This role does require an experienced ED Nurse Tech.

Essential Job Function

• Supports patients with daily living tasks, including meals, personal care, and progressive mobility in order to support the recovery and plan of care.
• Assesses patients' quality of life related to nutrition, hydration, and elimination in order to distribute resources and anticipate patient needs.
• Admits, transfers, and discharges patients in order to move them to the appropriate locations in line with the plan of care.
• Assists with patient elimination needs, including ostomy care, enemas, and condom catheters to provide comfortable care for patients.
• Helps to maintain unit inventories of supplies and equipment in order to ensure a clean and safe environment in adherence to the National Patient Safety Goals.
• Checks that fall risk patients have the appropriate armbands, socks, and signage to ensure physical safety.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

• Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience

• Required: 6 months of related experience.

Licensure/Certification/Listing

• Required: BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider; Nurse Aide Certification required.
