Baton Rouge General is seeking a dedicated medication history technician to accurately obtain medication histories from patients and caregivers, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The medication history technician will obtain medication histories for:
The technician will consult various sources to ensure a complete and accurate medication history. Interviews with patients and/or caregivers are supplemented with review of retail pharmacy records and hospital medication administration records (MARs).

Experience Requirements: 3 years pharmacy technician experience in a hospital setting preferred.
Educational Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent.
Special Skill, License, and Knowledge Requirements:
HIPAA Requirements: Maintain knowledge of and adherence to HIPAA regulations related to patient records, information, and privacy.
Safety Requirements: Follow safety practices including incident reporting, waste handling, PPE use, and environment of care procedures.
