Job summary

Vaughan Regional Medical Center in Selma, AL, is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the Emergency Department team. You will provide patient care under the direction of RNs and physicians, administer medications, and support fast-paced, high-acuity workflows.

The role requires strong clinical judgment, teamwork, and commitment to safety. LPNs must hold an active LPN license and BLS; ACLS/PALS may be required within policy; ED experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing Program.
• Current LPN license (or equivalent state licensure).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• ACLS and PALS certifications required within facility policy time frame.
• Emergency Department experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, effective nursing care under RN supervision in the ED and other units as needed.
• Accurately assess and document patient conditions, vitals, and symptoms.
• Administer medications and IV therapy within LPN scope of practice.
• Complete delegated tasks and report findings to RN and providers.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and documentation standards.
• Support staffing efforts and participate in departmental operations.
• Uphold professionalism, maturity, and integrity in all interactions.
• Function as a mentor and role model during onboarding of new staff.
