Job summary

Piedmont Henry Hospital in Georgia is seeking an ED Patient Flow Coordinator to manage patient movement in the Emergency Department, ensuring safe, efficient care delivery.

The role requires RN licensure in Georgia, at least 1 year of ED experience, and demonstrated involvement in quality or process improvement projects. The coordinator will liaise with ED staff to optimize throughput.

Graduate from a nursing program is required; a BSN is preferred.

• 3/4:1 Patient to RN Ratio
• Level III trauma center
• Triage and assessment of patient complaint
• Medical screening exam by a qualified medical provider and treatment plan based on assessment

• Recently added 18 bed cardiac observation unit that works closely with ED
• Multidisciplinary team in the ED includes: ED MD, ED APP, ED RN, C-RN, Flow Coordinator, Unit Based Educator, RN, ED Paramedics, Patient Care Technicians, Radiology staff, Respiratory staff, Patient Experience and Patient Access

Responsibilities

The Emergency Department (ED) Patient Flow Coordinator position is responsible for the overall movement of patients through the ED in a safe and efficient manner. This position will coordinate all patient care activities and be a liaison with the ED medical staff to ensure that care can be delivered in an efficient and safe manner. The Patient Flow Coordinator appropriately delegates the workload and is a role model for teamwork, leadership and professionalism in the ED.

Education

• Graduate from a nursing program Required
• Bachelors Degree of Nursing Preferred

Work Experience

• 1 year of Emergency Department experience, as a registered nurse (RN) Required
• Experience participating in and/or leading quality and process improvement projects Required

Licenses and Certifications

• RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure Required
• BCLS - Basic Life Support Required
• ACLS Required
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support Required
