Job summary

Cedars-Sinai Medical Center is seeking a Clinical Partner/CNA for the Emergency Department on 12-hour night shifts (Full Time). Qualifications

• A minimum of one (1) year previous experience as a Licensed CNA in an acute care facility.
• BLS Certification by the American Heart Association or The American Red Cross is required.
• BLS expiration date must be valid 60 days or more before start date.
• California Certified Nursing Assistant Certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Identifies physical, emotional and social needs of patients and reports findings to the RN.
• Participates in the implementation of patient care and contributes to the plan under the supervision of the RN.
• Provides for the safety and comfort of patients, families and significant others; reduces risk of healthcare-acquired infection by following CDC hand washing guidelines and CSMC policy.
• Safely uses restraints interventions under the direction of the charge nurse or primary RN.
• Provides therapeutic communication, redirection, reality orientation, motivation of patients to participate in activities, and conducts rounds to assure safety; reports problems or patient complaints.
• Maintains patient stability by checking vital signs and weight, recording intake/output, dispensing/retrieving supplies, reports abnormal signs to RN, and documents in EMR.
• Ensures environmental cleanliness in patient rooms and care areas.
• Accompanies patients for tests/procedures.
• Assists patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
• Assists patient mobilization and out-of-bed activities.
• Identifies safety concerns in age-related populations and notifies licensed personnel.
