Job summary

Mount Sinai Medical Center in Westchester ED seeks a Charge Description Master specialist to monitor and ensure accurate ED charge coding for compliant billing. You will support data entry, answer billing questions, and maintain related databases across hospital systems.

This role requires 1–2 years in healthcare and a healthcare-related bachelor’s degree with medical terminology preferred; you will collaborate with HIM, budgeting, and patient financial services teams to ensure timely revenue

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare-related field; medical terminology preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience, preferably in healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Monitor ED charges to ensure compliant coding for billing and reimbursement.
• Assist with data entry, billing questions, and education; maintain databases.
• Implement changes across hospital systems and dictionaries affected by charge processing.
• Coordinate with Emergency Department, Health Information Management, Budget & Financial Planning, and Patient Financial Services.
