Job summary

UNTWN Uniontown Hospital is seeking a Nursing Assistant to assist in the Emergency Department under RN supervision. The role involves direct patient care, basic hygiene, vital signs, and documenting activities to ensure safe, efficient care.

Responsibilities

• Provides and assists with patient care including basic hygiene, comfort, support and safety measures, nutrition and elimination needs, simple treatments and procedures, vital signs, weights, glucose monitoring and mobility using proper tools and body mechanics for the ages served.
• Registers patients accurately in the registration area.
• Communicates patient information accurately and informs nurse when needed.
• Performs EKGs.
• Responds to call lights and conducts rounds to address patient and family needs.
• Documents assigned tasks per policy and age-appropriate procedures.
• Cleans patient equipment and reports defects for repair.
• Transports patients and handles courier duties for the department.
• Responds effectively in emergencies (Code 68, 99, 44).
• Restocks supplies and maintains unit logs for patient care items.
• Monitors temperature logs per unit checklist.
• Maintains a neat nursing unit, hallways and utility rooms.
• Other duties as assigned.
