Job summary

Capgemini Engineering in Irvine, CA is seeking an Electronics Test and Validation specialist to own the design verification and characterization of vehicle ECUs, focusing on Zonal and Battery ECUs. You will develop test plans, lead characterization testing, and produce DFT reports while collaborating with reliability, design, and firmware teams.

Qualifications

• BS/MS or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5–7 years of electronics characterization and validation testing experience.
• Experience with lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, DMMs).
• Strong understanding of Electrical Engineering fundamentals.
• Experience with vehicle electrical systems and comms buses.
• Nice to have Python scripting, low-level firmware, C and Databricks.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed design verification and characterization test plans for ECU programs.
• Lead the execution of characterization testing to meet project milestones.
• Own test coverage reports and analysis.
• Perform bench-level characterization at IC and PCB levels.
• Provide early feedback to design engineers on testability and design decisions.
• Develop Design for Testability (DFT) reports for ECU designs.
• Manage characterization schedules and report status to management.
• Write automation scripts and instrumentation drivers in Python to speed up testing.
• Collaborate with software engineers to flash, test, and troubleshoot firmware.
• Lead root-cause analysis of non-compliance test results using data analysis.
