Job summary

North Kansas City Schools seeks an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher to provide specialized instruction and coordinate services for students with disabilities. The role emphasizes IEP development, case management, and collaboration with general and special education staff.

Qualifications

• Missouri certification in early childhood special education (ECSE).
• Valid Missouri teaching certificate for ECSE.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a case manager in the development and implementation of IEPs for students with disabilities.
• Provides specialized instruction to students with disabilities in regular and special education settings.
• Communicates with regular education teachers, related service professionals, and administration about students' needs.
• Collaborates with school team to implement effective teaching strategies for students with disabilities.
• Maintains records of student progress toward IEP goals and documentation as required by DESE regulations.
• Participates in student eligibility evaluations and re-evaluations.
• Assists in developing budget requests for instructional materials to support IEPs.
• Initiates regular communication with parents of students with disabilities.
• Uses technology to implement instruction and manage documentation.
• Follows safety practices and district policies.
• Other duties as assigned by the Board of Education.
