Position Summary

Maple Valley is seeking a caring, collaborative, and highly qualified Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE)


Teacher to provide specialized instruction and support to young children with disabilities. The ECSE Teacher


will create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment while developing individualized instruction


based on each child’s unique strengths, needs, and developmental goals.


The ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood education, committed to inclusive practices, and able to


build strong partnerships with students, families, general education teachers, therapists, and other service


providers.


Key Responsibilities


  • Develop and implement individualized educational programs (IEPs) in accordance with student needs and applicable regulations.

  • Provide developmentally appropriate, evidence-based instruction to young children with disabilities.

  • Assess student progress and use data to guide instruction and intervention.

  • Collaborate with speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, school psychologists, social workers, and other professionals.

  • Support students’ academic, communication, social-emotional, behavioral, adaptive, and developmental skills.

  • Create an engaging, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.

  • Communicate regularly and effectively with families regarding student progress and educational needs.

  • Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, professional development, and other school-related activities.

  • Maintain accurate student records and documentation.

  • Implement appropriate accommodations, modifications, and behavioral supports.

  • Collaborate with general education staff to promote inclusion and successful transitions.

  • Support students and families during transitions into school programs and between educational settings.

  • Follow district policies, special education regulations, and best practices for early childhood education.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Required


  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, or a related field.

  • Valid teaching certification/licensure appropriate for ECSE and the state in which the position is located.

  • Knowledge of child development and evidence-based special education practices.

  • Strong communication, organization, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

  • Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.


Preferred


  • Experience working with preschool-aged children with disabilities.

  • Experience developing and implementing IEPs.

  • Knowledge of early childhood assessment and intervention practices.

  • Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and families.


Desired


  • Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification

  • CPR/First Aid certification
