Job summary

Gulfstream is seeking an Environmental Control Systems Technical Specialist 2 to serve as a technical authority for ECS design, integration, certification, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement on Gulfstream aircraft. The role spans the full lifecycle from development to production and in-service support.

You will leverage a robust ECS lab environment, contribute to cabin pressurization, air conditioning, ventilation, and thermal management, and drive solutions that enhance performance,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent; 10 years in a technical discipline or 15 years across disciplines with a bachelor’s degree.
• Advanced technical judgment and the ability to independently resolve complex engineering problems.
• Experience credit for related advanced degrees may be considered, limited to 2 years for a master’s degree and 4 years for a doctorate in fields applicable to the position.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and engineering support for Environmental Control Systems.
• Analyze ECS performance data and troubleshoot complex system anomalies.
• Support laboratory, ground, and flight testing to understand system behavior and evaluate solutions.
• Develop and implement corrective actions that improve reliability, maintainability, and operational performance.
• Lead structured root-cause investigations and coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to resolve issues.
• Review engineering documentation and provide technical guidance across engineering, manufacturing, quality, flight operations, certification, and customer support.
• Apply technical judgment to solutions balancing aircraft performance, cost, and schedule.
