Job summary

EA's ecotoxicology laboratory is seeking an experienced scientist to lead sediment ecotoxicology testing, apply expertise to evaluate aquatic contaminants, and generate high-quality data for environmental decision-making.

You will manage projects, train technicians, review data and statistics, and contribute to technical reports. Requirements include a bachelor's degree (master's preferred), at least three years in ecotoxicology, and the ability to pass a motor vehicle records check.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Ecotoxicology or related field (master's preferred).
  • Minimum three years experience in ecotoxicology lab.
  • Experience conducting and evaluating aquatic toxicity testing and data.

Responsibilities

  • Lead sediment ecotoxicology testing within the laboratory.
  • Manage projects, including planning, coordinating, and tracking sediment testing activities.
  • Train and support technicians working on sediment ecotoxicology testing.
  • Review and manage laboratory data, including raw data review, data scanning, and statistical analysis.
  • Contribute to the preparation and review of technical reports as time permits.

Position Overview

As an ecotoxicology laboratory scientist, you'll apply your scientific expertise to investigate how environmental contaminants affect aquatic organisms and ecosystems. This position is part of EA's ecotoxicology laboratory and offers hands-on opportunities to conduct toxicity testing of sediment and effluent samples, generate high-quality data, and contribute to real-world environmental decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality, accurate work.

  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team environment,
  • Note: This position requires specific driving duties. You must be able to pass a motor vehicle records check required by our insurer.
