GM Financial is seeking an Economist I to support data-driven models and market analysis for portfolio performance.
You will summarize findings, prepare presentations for internal clients, maintain databases, and collaborate with Data Science and Remarketing teams.
Requirements include a Master’s and a Bachelor’s in Economics/Finance/Statistics, proficiency in SAS, and strong communication with Senior Management.

About the role: The Economist I is responsible for assisting in the data collection and maintenance of data‑driven models. The Economist I plays a role in the production of research and analysis to quantify the impact of economic, legal and industry factors that affect portfolio performance and asset values. This position is responsible for being the subject matter expert on the used vehicle market. This position is also responsible for summarizing, reporting and providing polished presentations on findings to a variety of internal clients as well as interacting with other departments in the interest of achieving the overall company objectives. This position will assist the Data Science and Remarketing teams in modeling efforts through an in‑depth knowledge of econometrics, diligent knowledge of economic and market data, and providing insightful interpretation through outside‑of‑the‑box analysis. To improve ad‑hoc executive decisions, the Economist I applies advanced analytical skills and processes through data analysis, model development and strategy testing.
