Qualifications

• PhD in Economics, Quantitative Marketing, Finance, or closely related field.
• Three or more years of experience in a postdoctoral position; or three or more years in consulting, government or academic research.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Chief Economists and senior management on key business problems in retail, international retail, cloud computing, third party merchants, search, Kindle, streaming video, and operations.
• Build econometric models using Amazon's data systems and apply economic theory to solve fast-moving business problems.
• Develop new techniques to process large data sets and contribute to automated system design across the company.
